Quality matters for kids.  We all want children to be safe and in settings that promote their healthy development. The Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) Act, signed into law by the President in November of 2014, sets out numerous requirements in pursuit of healthy, safe, and high quality child care throughout the nation. Staff with the Virginia Department of Social Services will reflect on these requirements, changes that are occurring in Virginia child care, and strategies and resources to advance quality.
